With their rise in popularity, we’ve been spotting a whole lot of different ways to wear overalls lately. No longer a throwback to the 1990s and tomboy fashion, these days overalls seem to be at the forefront of fashion trends. There are plenty of different ways to pull off this look, if the number of ladies we’ve spied on the street donning this trend are anything to go by. Take a look at a few different ways to wear overalls, below.
1 Dressed up
When looking at ways to wear overalls, a common choice is to stick to a fairly casual look. However, they can be dressed up to create a much more polished appearance. We spotted this lady on the Topshop Tumblr teaming her denim overalls with a statement red coat. She also wore a buttoned up blouse, metal-capped shoes, and a luxe looking knit beanie. A compact clutch and bright red lip completed the outfit.

2 Leather Look
Blogger Alexandra Spencer was snapped by Jacob Pritchard for Elle magazine wearing a pair of black leather overalls. She wore her overalls with a white sweater and black booties, with a navy coat on standby. If real leather overalls don’t take your fancy then you can always try the faux leather variety.
3 Kimono Style
Add an eclectic touch to your look with a floaty kimono. Francesca Barry was snapped for Glamour online wearing her Primark overalls with this floral kimono by River Island. She also wore a plain black top, beat-up Dr Martens boots, and a black backpack. This outfit is tomboy-dressing with an eclectic twist.
4 Faded and Relaxed
Work a more retro-inspired look with a pair of wide-legged or flared overalls. This lady was spotted on the Free People blog as she attended the Rosebowl Flea Market. She teamed her faded, flared overalls with a floaty white blouse and flip flops. A slouchy tote and dark green fedora finished off her relaxed daytime look.
5 Shortened
Short overalls are a fun way to wear the trend come summer. Danielle from the We Wore What blog worked a casual daytime look in a pair of vintage short denim overalls. She teamed them with an American Apparel leopard print crop top and white Converse sneakers. A gold watch, metal-framed sunglasses and a high ponytail completed the casual looking outfit. This kind of outfit would seem right at home at a music festival.
6 Black and White
Eleanor Crewes was snapped by Suzanne Middlemass working an on-trend monochrome look. She teamed her black Zara overalls with a white t-shirt, ASOS ankle boots, and Next sunglasses. Sticking to a black and white look, like this outfit, is an understated way to wear the trend. You could easily swap the boots for ballet flats for a more ladylike look or dress it up with a pair of heels.
7 Grungy
Blogger Savina worked a street-smart look in her overalls by teaming them with a black leather jacket and white hi-top trainers. She also wore them with the bib down and a white t-shirt tucked in. A statement red beanie completed this slight grungy take on the trend.
These are just a few examples of how the overall trend has been hitting the streets. Do you love or loathe overalls? How would you style your overalls this season?
